Dear Valued Customers,
You may have seen that Bamboo House was listed on the Victorian Governments website as a confirmed public exposure site on 21/5/2021 between times 1100am -1150am.
We wanted to let you know what really happened – and the steps we have taken to keep you, our staff and community safe.
What Happened?
On 21/5/2021 a trade person entered the storage area in the back building of our premises for less than 15 minutes between the hours of 11 and 11:50 am.
Fortunately, the time they were there was outside of our business hours, so we were not open to the public – contrary to what some news articles have reported.
However, following the Department of Health and Human Services’ (DHHS) advice, we closed our doors, informed our staff -all of whom later tested negative for coronavirus (COVID19).
We also worked closely with DHHS to identify anyone else who may have been on the premises and been in close contact with the trade person who had a confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19).
What Caused Confusion?
Our Business was incorrectly listed twice on a government site for confirmed exposure, and customers were understandably very worried and called in to talk to us.
We have since had the relevant Government authority rectify this error, and we are now correctly listed on this website as at 21/5/2021 between times 1100am -1150am.
There was only ever this one exposure, outside of hours, in the back building of our premises by a trade person.
What Next?
A reputable cleaning company has recently attended the premises and undertaken a deep clean to disinfect all surfaces (in accordance with the strict infection control guidelines put in place by DHHS.)
We are now in possession of our certification from DHHS clearing us to re-open, when lock down lifts.
What Can You Do To Help?
We urge our customers to continue to follow DHHS guidelines to keep yourself, your friends and family safe and help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Get tested even if you have mild symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19). After getting tested, you need to stay home until you have your test result.
Symptoms include:
- Loss or changes in sense of smell or taste
- Fever
- Chills or sweats
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Shortness of breath
- Runny nose.
- Practise good hygiene – wash your hands regularly and cough and sneeze into a tissue or your elbow.
- Keep your distance – stay 1.5 metres away from anyone you don’t live with.
- Wear a face mask whenever you leave home.
